What is Transcendental Meditation (TM)?

Modern day miracles of Transcendental Meditation

Modern Transcendental Meditation has evolved in this century around six decades ago as a part of spiritual journey of Mahershi Mahesh Yogi which engulfed west. Mahesh Yogi was first to come up with the technique. By the early 70s Transcendental Mediation started becoming popular and Mahesh Yogi worked relentlessly through the globe to accelerate the movement. His thrust was more on creating large pool of instructors and teacher to stimulate the process and he was highly successful in his endeavour.
While additional techniques were added, and the organization that taught the Transcendental Meditation and additional techniques changed, the TM technique itself remained relatively unchanged.
Maharishi Mahesh Yogi believes he was merely a medium to propagate to this divine secret and it was actually a gift of Lord Krishna. Though, the technique has borrowed largely grom Buddha, Vedanta and Yoga sutras of Patanjali.

More about Transcendental Meditation movement

Transcendental Meditation technique has even advanced level "Yogic flying". He also invented Maharishi Ayurveda, a system of Ayurveda using herbs and massage. The Transcendental movement touted as TM movement and was considered as a new Hindu sect.

TM helps in optimizing the full capacity of brain

Stress coupled with fatigue and alcohol adversely affects neural connections between the brain's prefrontal cortex. This means brain response weakens affecting your thought process. Transcendental Meditation technique reduces stress. It helps in better coordination between the brain's pre-frontal cortex and different areas of the brain. This results in more powerful thinking and farsighted decision-making. If you practice the technique regularly your body relaxed and you reach in the state of Transcendental Consciousness that is source of orderliness and dynamism and innate energy. One should accept that negative thinking is the prime reason people fail to achieve their goals. This acts as a major hindrance towards success. Once they fail they start blaming others for their failures. This is the major difference between an achiever and failure person. An achiever learns from mistakes and does not repeat mistakes. They have strong urge to become successful in life. This is auto-generated and nobody inculcates them to work hard. They are methodical by nature and not by choice.
But, everyone who is determined to achieve success in life can do so. He can develop winner like attitude in himself through TM that helps you to inward and enliven the dormant potentials into realities. Once your inner potential are realized it has tremendous effect on your life as it changes the way you think, act, perform, talk and sleep. These positive changes not only help you channelize the hidden potential which otherwise are dissipated in unfruitful thinking and activities. Your chakras that are oceans of energy are more vibrant owing to ancient meditation technique which you will feel in yourself and will be reflected to others. Benefits of TM go beyond that. Suddenly, you feel you are solving the problems quickly and memory capacity increases and daily life becomes more purposeful.
Transcendental Meditation is often mistakenly conceived as a separate religious cult or sect but in reality it is not so. It is just a method that teaches you art of living purposefully. This is science of creative intelligence and you can have a degree in this course which can be obtained at the Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield in Iowa.
